It is carved with cranes and deer on the left and right sides, with ganoderma lucidum in its mouth, meaning “cranes and deer share the same spring”, which expresses the meaning of birthday celebration. The handle is carved with three bats around the word “longevity”, which means “three bats (blessing) hold longevity”. The bottom is carved with lotus flowers wrapped in branches, and the edge is carved with a ripple. There is a bunch of yellow tassels at the tail and two red corals on it
Ruyi is a common gift and display in the palace. This copper-plated hollowed-out fairy is the best of the gold-plated copper handicrafts in the Qing Palace.
