Open plate, folded edge, arc belly, high circle foot. The outsole is printed with four characters in regular script in blue and white regular script, “Auspicious”. The entire body is decorated with gold in alum red color, with cloud dragon playing pearl patterns painted on the inner bottom of the plate, along the folding edge, and both inside and outside. The outer wall of the high foot is painted with sea water and river cliff patterns
This is one of 134 pieces of porcelain from the Xuantong Dynasty that were left behind by the Qing Dynasty in the Palace Museum. The types of utensils include high foot plates, matching oval plates of various sizes, handle cups, belt holders, large and small discs, cover cylinders, and leaf shaped plates. The decorative patterns are all traditional Chinese patterns of clouds and dragons, but the shapes of some utensils have European characteristics, reflecting the impact of Western lifestyles on China at that time
