Huangdi Kaiguang Powder Colored Sanyang Kaitai Pattern Bowl, with a diameter of 15.2 centimeters, is in the old collection of the Forbidden City
The inner wall of this bowl is decorated with blue and white flowers and painted with patterns of pine, bamboo, plum, and ganoderma lucidum. The inner bottom is centered on a blue and white double circle painted landscape background, with three sheep with different expressions as the center of the pattern, implying “Three Yangs Bring Prosperity”. The outer wall of the bowl is painted with yellow glaze, decorated with peach blossoms with folded branches, and painted in three circular spaces in a way that opens and leaves blank, echoing the inner sanyang of the bowl
The bottom of the bowl is printed in six character and double line regular script style in a blue and white script “Made in the reign of the Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty”, with lines in the middle of the regular script, reflecting the unique style of porcelain produced in the imperial kilns of the Emperor Guangxu period.
