[Silver Plated Gold Turtle Button “Seal of the Precious Concubine”]
“Seal of the Precious Concubine”, Qing Guangxu, Silver Plated Gold, Square Seal of the Turtle Button, Manchu Chinese Seal Script. The surface is 11cm square, the overall height is 11.5cm, and the button height is 8cm
The seal characters are “The Seal of the Princess” in Manchu and Chinese seal scripts. Among the imperial concubines of the Qing Dynasty, those who were granted the title of “Precious Concubine”, in addition to the Tara surname, the imperial concubine of Emperor Guangxu, there was also the Hesheli surname, the imperial concubine of Emperor Daoguang, who was granted the title of “Precious Concubine” in the Jin Dynasty in August 1825, the fifth year of Emperor Daoguang. From then on, the analysis of the button style and seal style of the seal should be considered as the seal of the precious imperial concubine of Emperor Guangxu, which is an important cultural relic reflecting the system of imperial concubines’ canonization in the late Qing Dynasty. This seal was originally made of gold, but later confirmed by archives and testing to be silver plated with gold
