This painting is a snow scene. In the valley between trees and rocks, one person rides a scalper, five people ride a mule, and one person rides a horse. Some look back and talk with the people behind them, some write while walking, or read in scrolls. There are eight attendants who carry or drive cattle nearby. It may depict the story of Ji Kang, Ruan Ji, Shan Tao, Xiang Xiu, Ruan Xian, Wang Rong, Liu Ling and other “Seven Sages of the Bamboo Forest” riding donkeys and horses through Yangming Pass.
