“Tihe Dian System” Blue and White Flower Pattern Flower Pot Holder, Qing Guangxu, height 3.6 cm, caliber 17 cm, foot diameter 13.4 cm
The basin holder has a folded edge, shallow wall, and circular foot. The outer wall is painted with broken branches and peonies in blue and white. The outsole is decorated with a blue and white seal script with a “body and temple system” double line four character style
The Tihe Hall is the place where Empress Dowager Cixi used to eat when she lived in the Storage and Xiu Palace. The porcelain labeled “Tihe Hall Made” is a special utensil for Empress Dowager Cixi. The ornamentation of this utensil implies “both happiness and longevity”.
