“Residual Thunder” Qin, Qing Guangxu, with a total length of 118.8 cm, a hidden space of 110 cm, a forehead width of 17.3 cm, a shoulder width of 18.2 cm, a tail width of 12 cm, and a thickness of 4.5 cm
Qin sunset style, black gloss paint, clam emblem, ox horn cross bar. Within Yueshan Mountain, there are carved plum blossoms, dragon ponds, and phoenix marshes, all of which are circular in shape. The scorched tail is carved with a glossy ganoderma cloud pattern, and the tail is supported with a vine pattern, symmetrical from left to right. The surface of the qin is made of paulownia wood
On the back of the piano, on the dragon pool, there are two characters in regular script: “Remnant Thunder”, and under it, there are thirty-five characters in Xingkai script: “Breaking the sky with a sound of a big axe, breaking the stem, analyzing the skin and bone decay. If you make a good material, you will encounter your own suffering, and if you encounter your own suffering, you will sob and mourn, and the wild will die forever.” All are filled in stone green. At the bottom left of the poem, a rectangular Zhu Wen seal is carved, with the characters “Zhuang Fei” in the seal character. Regular script abdomen: Liuyang Tan Sitong Fushengfu supervised the production of the Thunderbolt Qin in the 16th year of Guangxu reign. The poem “Remnant Thunder” can be found in Tan Sitong’s manuscript “The Pavilion of Autumn Rain and Time, Cong Shu”. In the 16th year of Guangxu’s reign (1890), Tan Sitong was only 25 years old
This zither is one of the ancient zithers produced by Tan Sitong under the supervision of splitting wutong trees with thunder. It is different from the ordinary Qing zither and is extremely precious
In 1952, Mr. Qian Junyi donated this zither to the Palace Museum
