Green Pink Fairway Cup, Qing Guangxu, with a height of 6cm and a diameter of 12cm
This is a work from Yixing Kiln. The cup is in the shape of a lotus leaf, with a round bottom and three pegged legs. The entire vessel is made of Yixing purple sand, with green glaze applied inside and outside, and the outer wall decorated with flowers. Inside the cup is a fairy with a bun on her head, a bare chest and belly, and a smiling face, sitting in front of a yellow colored cylinder. The column is hollow and has a purple clay slender floating column inside, which is shaped like a birthday star. There are five red dots around the floating column on the column
The Gongdao Cup originated in the Song Dynasty and was used to enforce orders when drinking alcohol to help make it more enjoyable. The five red dots on the column of this cup point to the drinkers present.
