Yellow ground pastel bamboo pattern stiff bucket, Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty, height 9 cm, caliber 8.7 cm, foot diameter 5.2 cm
Stiffened and open, with a rounded belly and rounded feet. Elegant and compact design. The interior is painted with white glaze, and the exterior is painted with light yellow glaze. Various silk and bamboo patterns are painted. The top and bottom are decorated with gold string patterns. The center of the outsole is embossed with red ink and printed in regular script with four characters and two lines of “Tongzhi Year System”
This stiff bucket is one of the porcelain ordered and fired by the imperial kiln factory during the Tongzhi period for the Tongzhi wedding. It is a sanitary ware for banquets in the palace
