Yellow ground pink plum magpie pattern plate, Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty, with a height of 5cm, a caliber of 22cm, and a foot diameter of 13.4cm
The opening of the plate is slightly outwardly curled, with a rounded belly and rounded feet, and the center of the outsole is embossed with red ink and printed in regular script with four characters and two lines of “Tongzhi Year System”
The inside of the plate is decorated with yellow ground pastel and painted with four groups of plum and magpie patterns, among which three groups of broken branches are painted with ten magpies each, with the same composition and layout, and the same copy is used. The center of the plate is painted with two magpies in one group. Magpies are painted in ink and color, with various postures, some resting on branches, some looking back and looking forward, and some flying in the air. The branches are painted in brown, and the plum blossoms are painted in pink, with sharp color contrast. The outer wall of the plate is decorated with a white ground pink colored lotus flower, a western passionflower, and a peony, each with a gold color decoration along the rim
The pattern of magpies climbing on plum blossoms is common in late Qing porcelain, implying happiness and auspiciousness
