Yixing Yaozi Smelted Purple Sand Beam Kettle has a clear path, a height of 12.6cm, a diameter of 6.8cm, and a bottom diameter of 7.3cm
The pot is oblate, with a short curved flow, a high lifting beam with three forked handles, and horizontal feet. Round cover, mountain shadow shaped button. On the front and abdomen of the pot, the regular script “Master in the Mountains and Rivers” is engraved, with the signature “Ziye”
Zi Ye, also known as Qu Yingshao, was a famous pot maker during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. He was another pot painter after Chen Mansheng. When he made the pot, he called it the “Three Jue Pot” – a combination of poetry, calligraphy, and painting.
