Eight petal sunflower shaped mirror with hemispherical button. The main relief pattern in the inner area is composed of dragon and phoenix. On both sides of the mirror button are opposite spread wings dancing phoenixes, standing on the Lianzhi lotus. The upper part of the mirror button is a dragon pattern, and the surrounding area is lined with auspicious clouds. Each mirror edge is decorated with relief patterns, such as broken lotus leaves, flying birds holding ribbon, birds chasing butterflies, etc. The decorative patterns of birds have been mostly seen in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, while the dragon patterns and sunflower petal shaped mirrors were mainly popular in the mid Tang Dynasty.
