The printing box is oblate, with a mother and son mouth and a circular foot. The cover and wall are lightly painted with blue and white auspicious cloud patterns on the ground, with two gold colored five-claw dragons flying between the clouds. The bottom foot is painted with white glaze, and the blue and white seal script “Made in the Jiaqing Year of the Qing Dynasty” is written in three lines and six characters. In the center of the box cover, the words “Maoqin Hall” are inscribed in the gold color box
The “Maoqin Hall” is located on the west veranda of the Qianqing Palace in the Forbidden City. The name of the hall is derived from the meaning of “Maoxue Qinzheng”, in which books and classics are stored. It was made during the Qing and Ming dynasties, and all books, calligraphy, and calligraphy were stored here. This printing box is the imperial stationery displayed in the palace at that time, and there is still a residue of cinnabar ink used at that time in the box
