Turquoise Green Glazed Hollow Flower Basket, Qing Qianlong, 13.5 cm high, 15.9 cm diameter × 9.9 cm, foot diameter 5.8 cm × 4.4 cm
The flower basket is in the shape of a treasure, with a wide rim, upturned ends, a short neck, a flat round belly, and slightly curled legs. Twelve gold colored living rings are decorated under the mouth edge. The lifting beam consists of two strings of gold colored collars and three pieces of hollow flame pattern porcelain. On the outsole, there are six characters and three lines of rouge colored seal script “made in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty”. The whole body is painted with turquoise green glaze and decorated with a hollow dragon pattern
During the Qianlong period, the production of porcelain, which was the culmination of famous kilns of various dynasties, reached a historical peak, with exquisite and ingenious artifacts emerging in an endless stream, and various handicrafts imitated from porcelain reached a level of authenticity. The glaze color of this flower basket is almost indistinguishable from that of turquoise, and a large number of carving and looping techniques are used, with an amazing degree of sophistication.
