The so-called “tendon sac” refers to the precise and standardized design of the pot body by dividing the melon ribs and petals in nature into several equally divided rib patterns. Since the mid Kangxi period, the shapes of purple clay pots have mostly taken from the natural forms of plants and animals, giving people an elegant and intimate aesthetic feeling. “Chen Yinshang”, a famous craftsman in purple sand in the early Qing Dynasty, is adept at making rib shaped teapots and various forms of literary and artistic offerings
