Yixing Kiln Purple Sand Clay Painting Tea Cooking Drawing Title: Qianlong Imperial Poetry and Culture Holding Pot, Qing Dynasty Qianlong, height 15.4 cm, caliber 5 cm, foot diameter 5.8 cm
The kettle has a cylindrical shape, a short neck, a straight belly, a long curved flow, an ear shaped handle, and a circular foot. Attached is an umbrella shaped cover with a ball button on top. Light pink sand and mud. On one side of the pot belly, a rectangular corner is carved with a light inside, inscribed with the poem “Cooking Tea in the Rain and Sleeping in the Study” by the Emperor Qianlong. At the end of the sentence, there is a circular seal with the word “dry” and a square seal with the word “long”. On the other side, there is a clay painting of tea cooking in the courtyard. In the quiet mountain courtyard, the owner of the hall and the visiting scholars were having a lively conversation, and the zither boy walked through the courtyard to pick up the zither for fun. In the wing room, a waiter is fanning the stove to cook tea. The picture is clearly convex and concave, and the pattern is clear. This pot is the most representative work of the purple sand ware with tea cooking pictures collected by the Palace Museum, and it is one of the standard utensils of the palace purple sand
