The Jiede Hall was built in the 45th year of Qianlong’s reign in the Qing Dynasty (1780) and is located on an island in the west of Jinghu Lake in Chengde Mountain Resort. Emperor Qianlong’s “Records of Jiede Tang” and “Aftermath of Jiede Tang” were written in the 46th year of Qianlong’s reign (1781) in Meng Qiu. The article outlines the implication of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty that “precepts are obtained”, and points out that in his later years, the monarch should abstain from greed for meritorious deeds, be prepared for danger in times of peace, and guard his achievements to show future generations
The front and back notes of the Kesi Jiede Hall are woven from the script of the Emperor Qianlong. The technique of tapestry is not complicated, only common techniques such as flat tapestry and overlapping tapestry can be seen. However, the horizontal width of the hand roll is 300 centimeters, and the width of the tapestry loom also needs 300 centimeters. It is not easy to weave 86 lines of characters vertically, without losing the rhyme of the strokes. The text of the work is evenly arranged and the font size is consistent, demonstrating the exquisite and meticulous craftsmanship of the tapestry
The work is engraved with a “Treasure of the Ancient and Rare Son of Heaven” printed on each size, and a “Zizi” printed on the same day. The head of the hand-rolled bag is decorated with a colorful auspicious cloud pattern made of silk tapestry.
