Duanshi Double Dragon Inkstone

[Duanshi Shuanglong Inkstone]

Duanshi Shuanglong Inkstone is 22 centimeters long, 18.2 centimeters wide, and 3.6 centimeters thick
This inkstone is made of stone at the end and is oval in shape. The upper part of the inkstone surface and the edge of the inkstone are carved into turbulent sea water, with a dragon circling in four directions in the center, surging and dancing. On the right, a swimming dragon highlights its hidden tail and looks up. Between the two dragons, a gold bead is embedded, forming a picture of two dragons playing with the pearl. Below the inkstone is the inkstone hall, with golden beads shining brightly. Surrounded by flying clouds and waves, it signifies a sea of clouds joining each other. The artist used a clever technique to create a dark and unobstructed inkpool three under the dragon’s body in the low valley of the torrent. Clouds and water merge on the back of the inkstone, creating two sharp swirls of strong waves and strong winds. The front and back are integrated and the momentum is smooth
The inkstone is cyan and purple in color, pure and flawless, and contains textures such as “fire pressing rouge halo” inside the stone. The texture is extremely delicate, warm, exquisite in production, novel in composition, elegant in shape, and smooth in blade technique. It is a good quality inkstone in the Qing Dynasty
On the left side of the inkstone, the official script reads “In May of the 18th year of Kangxi (1679), Liu Yuan, a small minister, was respectfully made”, and the seal character “Yuan” is printed in the square. On the back of the inkstone is the inscription of the Emperor Qianlong
The inkstone is installed in a red sandalwood box, and the inkstone box is also quite exquisite. The box is inlaid with jade ornaments. On the surface of the box, there are poems made by the Emperor Qianlong, and records of Su Shi’s chants. Inside the box, there is a dragon carved with the two characters “dragon light”. On the bottom and outside of the box, there is a painting of the twenty eight constellations inscribed with the four characters “Tianfu Yongbao” in gold. The box carving has smooth lines and is magnificent and magnificent.
