Chengni Qianlong Imperial Appreciation Inkstone is a set of six sided inkstones, with a nanmu box of 40 centimeters in length and 44 centimeters in width
The hexagonal inkstones are respectively circular, elliptical, octagonal, rectangular, wind shaped, and tile shaped. On the back or above the surface of each inkstone is engraved a poem inscribed by the Emperor Qianlong in Yin script. Each inkstone is mounted in a red sandalwood inlaid jade high box, and the lid of the box is engraved with a poem written by the Emperor Qianlong in Yin script and filled with gold. Six square inkstones are packed together in a wooden box
This type of appreciative inkstone is a complete set, with different types of inkstone in one set. It is a popular gift article in the palace in the Qing Dynasty.
