Purple Sand Imperial Poems and Tea Cooking Diagram: Six Square Pot, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, with a height of 16.2 centimeters, a caliber of 4.2 centimeters, and a foot diameter of 4.3 centimeters
The pot is hexagonal in shape, with a small mouth protruding from the lip, a short neck, a long curved flow, and rounded feet. Bamboo yellow sand mud has a simple and elegant color. On both sides of the abdomen, there are rectangular corners and oblong openings. On one side, the openings are filled with mud to draw a tea cooking diagram. In one corner of the corridor, tea children shake small fans and light a fire to fry tea. Two high-ranking scholars sit around the table to enjoy tea and chat freely; On the other side, a seven-character imperial poem titled “Cooking Tea in the Rain and Sleeping in the Study”, written by Emperor Qianlong in 1742, is engraved in the open light
Similar to this pot, there are several purple sand tea pots, which form a complete set of tea sets with porcelain tea utensils such as blue and white pine, bamboo, and plum poem cover bowls, and alum red pine, plum poem cover bowls. They are placed in red sandalwood or rattan woven tea pots for the emperor to carry and rotate when traveling
The “Sleeping Study” is the name of the cruise ship that Emperor Qianlong took when he toured Jiangnan. For the original poem, see Volume IX of “The First Collection of Qing Emperor Gaozong’s Poems”.
