The Maise Poetry Axis, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Emperor’s script, paper version, running script, 75.7 cm in length and 94.8 cm in width, is in the collection of the Palace Museum
Interpretation: “When crossing the river, there is wheat color, cold and warm in the north and south. As I remember the special teachings and joy, I can write poems and pictures. Before the wind blows and waves, I have already revealed myself through the pearl. Relying on this green and yellow connection, I can never see the green and Wuhu. There is a wheat color song. On the mid spring moon of Renwu (the 27th year of Qianlong’s reign, 1762), there is Huan Yu’s pen.” The seal reads: “The treasure is only virtuous,” with the seal of Bai Wen, and “The Emperor’s pen of Qianlong’s reign,” with the seal of Zhu Wen

Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, known as Hongli (1711-1799), loved Xinjueluo. The fourth son of Emperor Yongzheng. In the thirteenth year of Yongzheng (1735), he ascended to the throne under the reign name Qianlong. With achievements in cultural and martial arts, and social stability, it has been known as the “prosperous era of Kangxi and Qianlong”. Emperor Qianlong, who was a scholar and elegant scholar, emphasized the collection and collation of cultural relics and ancient books. He once ordered the collection of treasures in the inner palace to be compiled into books such as “Shiqu Treasure Collection” and “Xiqing Ancient Collection”
This painting is composed by Emperor Qianlong and is titled “Maise” (see Volume 19, Volume 3 of “The First Collection of Imperial Poetry”). Calligraphy is elegant, vigorous, and full of vigor, showing its mature calligraphy appearance in its prime. Due to Emperor Qianlong’s love for Zhao Mengfu’s calligraphy and his extensive study, there is a hidden Zhao style in his works
