Pink Flower Embossed Three Baby Playing Bottle, Qing Qianlong, height 21 cm, caliber 5.8 cm, foot diameter 7.6 cm
The bottle is in a three petal pattern, with a long neck, round belly, and circular feet. The inner wall is painted with turquoise green glaze. The mouth and feet are decorated with red glaze edges, and the outer body is painted with pink flower patterns on a white glaze. Close to the outer wall, three babies are molded to play. The three babies either climbed, or stood, playing with red ribbons that were also molded on the neck using the same stacking method. The bottom of the bottle is painted with turquoise green glaze, and the blue and white seal script is inscribed with six characters, “Made in the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty.”
According to the “Chronicle File” of the 20th year of Qianlong in the archives of the Qing Palace Building Office, “On April 26th, Councillor Lang Bai Shixiu said that eunuch Hu Shijie sent a message to Tang Yingzhao to burn three or five sub bottles in the past, and to burn fifty pieces of the same style as the bottles he bought today. It should be delivered on the first day of July, for reward.” This three sub bottle should be the one mentioned in the archives.
