Kusi Maitreya Pure World Thangka is a Thangka from the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, with a length of 59 centimeters and a width of 34 centimeters. The old collection of the Qing Palace
This Thangka is inscribed in the holy realm of Maitreya on the blue ground. In the painting, Maitreya Buddha holds the army with his left hand and says the seal with his right hand. He sits with his hands crossed in the middle, and the gods and bodhisattvas surround the mat to listen to the teachings. The work adopts a decorative method of combining two to four color halos and fading halos, using techniques such as flat tapestry, structural tapestry, conventional tapestry, gold tapestry, overlapping tapestry, and long and short tapestry, and partially using gold painting and various colors to outline and render. There are many characters in the painting, with various shapes, heavy colors, meticulous brushwork, and rich color settings. The work vividly depicts the movements of the gods, their mouths, whiskers, noses, and eyes, as well as their crowns and hats through various tapestry methods and painted forms. The outer edge of the painting is decorated with green three fruit patterns and red longevity character patterns woven into gold satin. The shaft head is inlaid with silver chiseled flowers and gemstones. This work is magnificent, luxurious and exquisite, with complex weaving techniques. Even among the works handed down by the court, such a beautiful and exquisite Thangka is rare.
