- Description:
This white porcelain pot is modeled after a metal or leather water bottle. White glaze is applied to the outer wall and the outer bottom of the vessel. The glaze color is bright and translucent. The lake green color is slightly flashed at the place where the glaze is accumulated. The glaze applied inside the vessel is less than half, revealing a gray white color body. It has a wide mouth, a short neck, round feet, and a cylindrical long belly with slightly concave sides. There are two tripping ears on the upper and lower sides, which enable the rope to be worn and tied, much like a water bottle carried by nomads on horseback. In the Tang Dynasty, objects made of different materials often imitate each other. Another white porcelain printed fish pattern cup in the courtyard is shaped like a four petal flower. The shape of the cup is derived from the Sassanian gold and silver multi curved long cup used as a wine vessel.
