“Ji’entang” Treasure, made of jade during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Jiaolongniu square seal, Chinese seal script. The surface is 11.9 cm square, 6.5 cm long, 9.4 cm high, and 4.5 cm high
This seal has a warm texture and fine carving. On the periphery of the printing platform, the “Records of the Ji En Tang in the Summer Resort”, which was made by the Emperor Qianlong and filled with gold, is carved in a red sandalwood carved dragon treasure box, and the same imperial text is also engraved in the shade around the box. The signature is “Made by the Emperor Qianlong at the age of 38 in the midsummer month of Guisi”. It can be seen that this seal was made in 1773. Note: There are two Ji’en Hall, one located in the Summer Resort and the other in the Yuanmingyuan Garden. It was specially named by Emperor Qianlong to commemorate the deep kindness of his grandfather, Emperor Kangxi, in his nurturing palace. Emperor Qianlong stated in his “Records of Ji Entang in Summer Resort”, “Ji Entang in Yuanmingyuan is the source of Ji Shouen. Ji Entang in Summer Resort is the trace of Ji Shouen. The name is the same but the reality is different, and the text is the same.” The so-called trace of Ji Entang refers to Emperor Qianlong who accompanied Kangxi to Summer Resort when he was 12 years old, and Kangxi arranged for him to live and study in the side room of Pine Wind in Wangu, and had him accompany him day and night to take good care of him. After Emperor Qianlong ascended the throne, a plaque inscribed “Ji En Tang” was hung in this hall. From the imperial inscriptions carved around the seal, it can be seen that this seal was specially made for Ji Entang in the Summer Resort. It is usually placed in it for sealing and commemoration
