Yixing Kiln Purple Sand Body Black Paint with Gold and Chrysanthemum Pattern Holding Pot, Qing Qianlong, height 9 cm, caliber 8 cm, foot diameter 7.5 cm
The kettle has a flat round belly, a short curved flow, a circular handle, and a circular foot. The attached round cover is arched, and the top is equipped with a treasure bead button. The purple sand inner tube is painted with black paint, and the black paint is painted with gold colored large chrysanthemums. The flowers are blooming in competition, the flowers and leaves are dyed red and green, and a butterfly is flying in the flowers. The outsole is engraved with a gold colored seal script “made in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty” with six characters and three lines
The purple sand body and color paint of this pot are closely combined, and the primer is black and shiny, setting off the golden color pattern with a magnificent and colorful appearance. The pattern is slightly convex, slightly higher than the black paint floor, making the pattern more three-dimensional. The most important process to be solved when painting gold colored paint on purple sand is the peeling of the paint skin, which will flake off once it is not well adhered. The purple sand lacquerware of the Qianlong period solved this problem very well. This pot is exquisitely crafted, demonstrating the exquisite artistic characteristics of royal utensils.
