Imperial Siku Wen Ge Poetry and Ink, with 5 ingots of ink set and various shapes
In the center is a circular twelve star ink with a diameter of 7.6 centimeters and a thickness of 1.6 centimeters. The center of the front is decorated with a gold circle with a dragon pattern inside, and the central seal script is decorated with the word “imperial system”. The outer circle is surrounded by twelve local branch names in regular script, and the outer ring is surrounded by seven character poems made by Emperor Qianlong in regular script. The back is carved with twelve Chinese zodiac signs
Above is a chime shaped ink, 15.6cm long, 4.9cm wide, and 1.9cm thick. On the obverse, the regular script is inscribed with a poem from the Wen Yuan Pavilion. The back is engraved with a picture of Wenyuan Pavilion. On the right side, the regular script “Wen Yuan Ge Mo” is printed in Yangwen
On the left is a rectangular cloud shaped ink, 13.8 cm long, 6.2 cm wide, and 1.9 cm thick. The verse of Wenjin Pavilion is inscribed in regular script on the front. The back is engraved with a picture of Wenjin Pavilion. On the right side, the regular script “Wenjin Pavilion Ink” is in the Yangwen script
On the right is a tongue shaped ink, 13 centimeters long, 5.8 centimeters wide, and 1.9 centimeters thick. On the obverse, the regular script is inscribed with imperial inscriptions. The back is engraved with a picture of the source pavilion. On the right side, the regular script “Wen Yuan Ge Mo” is printed in Yangwen
Below is a fan shaped ink, 15 centimeters long, 4.9 centimeters wide, and 1.9 centimeters thick. On the obverse, regular script and imperial inscriptions are used to trace the poetry of the Pavilion. The back is engraved with a picture of the Wensu Pavilion. On the right side, the regular script “Wen Suo Ge Ink” is printed in Yangwen
The imperial inscription poem on the front of the rear four ingot ink has the words “Minister Peng Yuanrui Respects the Book” behind it, and the six character inscription on the left side of the ink has the words “Made in the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty” in Yangwen
The ink color of this set is dark and the ink quality is exquisite. The imperial inscriptions on the front are all in gold script, and the carved pavilions and pavilions on the back have clear lines
In the 37th year of Qianlong’s reign (1772), Emperor Qianlong ordered the compilation of a complete collection of four libraries. In 1782, the first book was completed and stored in the Wenyuan Pavilion in the Forbidden City. In the same year, they were copied into three copies and stored in Wenjin Pavilion in Rehe, Wenyuan Pavilion in Yuanmingyuan Garden, and Wensu Pavilion in Shenyang. The inscription “Four Pavilions” on the ink sheet refers to the storage place of the four complete libraries
