[Greenfield woven multicolored peony Zhangsatin]
Greenfield woven multicolored peony Zhangsatin was made in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, with a length of 896 centimeters and a width of 74 centimeters. The old collection of the Qing Palace
This satin is woven in green with six three fly irregular warp patterns, with light green, dark green, bright red, rose violet, and pink velvet warp threads. It uses a W-shaped consolidation method and a fuzzing rod (i.e., a fake woven weft) to interweave peony patterns. In order to pursue the true effect of the pattern, after weaving, except for the edge loops of the pattern that have not been carved off, the rest are all carved off, forming a tufted pile with a loop edge. Due to the loose and glossy fleece of the carved pile, the pattern has a strong contrast between light and dark, and the pattern is higher than the satin ground, providing a strong three-dimensional effect. The design is concise and vivid, with beautiful and natural colors
Zhangzhou satin, which has existed since the Ming Dynasty, is the most famous product from Zhangzhou, Fujian in the Ming Dynasty, hence its name. Nanjing, Suzhou, and other places also have weaving.
