[Wenzhu Flower Sheath Ivory Knife]
Wenzhu Flower Sheath Ivory Knife, mid Qing Dynasty, 29.5cm long, 2cm wide
The scabbard is long and flat, with uniform and beautiful lines. The handle and scabbard are made of asparagus, and are inlaid with dyed bamboo springs on a light colored ground to form a variant of the tangled lotus pattern. The color is bright and pleasing to the eye. The pattern is also engraved with yin to outline the veins of flowers and leaves, making it precise. Both ends of the handle and sheath are inlaid with ivory decorations. The knife is also made of ivory, light and thin. The scabbard is equipped with iron and gold buckles and small rings. This sabre is modeled after a dagger and is made of ivory and asparagus. It is a rare work among paper cutting knives.
