The pendant is made of green jade with a purple tinge. It is in the shape of a chicken heart and is carved with two dragons and a phoenix. The central circular hole can be used for tying for easy wearing
The chicken heart pendant was popular in the Han Dynasty. This pendant imitates the style of the Han Dynasty’s chicken heart pendant, and its decorative patterns of chi and phoenix were also popular from the Warring States to the Western Han Dynasty. However, in the Qing Dynasty, the circular hole in the center of the chicken heart pendant was smaller than in the Han Dynasty, and the decorative patterns around the hole were much more complex than in the Han Dynasty.
