A rectangular basin of filigree enamel, with its walls paved with lake blue glaze, its four sides centered on copper plated gold and carved flowers with open lights. It is inlaid with painted enamel pieces painted with Western human landscapes, with filigree flower patterns on the outside, up and down, and at the four corners. The pot is paved with glass and planted with flowers, grass, trees, and stones. The main scenery is a peach tree, with copper plated golden branches and stems, dotted with emerald leaves, and gold stamens stained with ivory flowers. The peach tree is made of various jade stones such as tourmaline, hibiscus stone, jade, and yellow material. Under the tree, there are lined with malachite, hibiscus stone, Ranshishanzi, and small pomegranate trees and assorted flowers made of hibiscus stone, agate, and rosin petals
This bonsai is exquisite in craftsmanship and vivid in mood. It has a clear arrangement of primary and secondary scenery, and is well arranged. The gold-plated peach tree trunk shows a rich and noble atmosphere. The golden veins on the dotted peach leaves and the sapphire blue luster of the green feathers are still bright and beautiful, and the peaches made of various gemstones are exquisite and lovely. In Du Fu’s Daming Palace in the Early Days of Fenghe Jiazhi’s Sacrifice, there is a poem: “At midnight, there is a sound of an arrow to hasten the dawn, and the nine colors of spring intoxicate the peach trees.” This peach bonsai embodies the meaning of “nine colors of spring” in the poem, representing the peaceful scene of bright spring and prosperity. The matching of peach and longevity stone also means a birthday celebration, which is a widely used style of southern bonsai in the Qing Dynasty. This bonsai was a rare masterpiece during the reign of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty.
