The pen holder has a square body and four short feet attached to the bottom. The center of each side of the cylinder has a hollow rectangular area, inlaid with a blue and white jade plate, and surrounded by a variety of carved patterns of flat dragon hooks
The shape of the pen holder is extremely neat, with horizontal and vertical lines. Although the gap in the cutout is narrow, the asparagus package is meticulously inlaid, and almost no seam marks are visible throughout the body. The surface color, texture, and other aspects of asparagus are treated with exquisite and meticulous care. In addition, shallow reliefs are placed on it, which at first glance looks like a boxwood carving. This shows the superb level of asparagus craftsmanship in the mid Qing Dynasty.
