“The double ring three layer box with asparagus inlaid with stones]
The double ring three layer box with asparagus inlaid with stones, in the middle of the Qing Dynasty, has a height of 6 centimeters, a bottom length of 9.8 centimeters, and a width of 5.4 centimeters.”. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The box is double connected and double collided, with three layers, all of which are fastened with the mother and child mouths. The inside and outside of the box are wrapped with asparagus as decorations. The smooth bamboo spring layer on the outer wall is inlaid with embossed patterns. The facade is bounded by the collision centerline, and the left and right sides are respectively decorated with cloud bat patterns and tangled branches with lotus patterns. The surface of the cover is carved with a cloud pattern, with two intersecting circles, one light element and one geometric pattern. The centers of the two circles are carved with double Kui dragon patterns made of malachite and lapis lazuli, with bright colors. The transition between the cover and the facade is decorated with a lotus petal pattern
This vessel is exquisitely shaped and elegantly decorated, especially with the combination of the three layers of patterning, embossing, and engraving on asparagus with the inlaying techniques of other materials, fully demonstrating the development level of asparagus during the mature period of the mid Qing Dynasty.
