The Tibetan name of this Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is “Lotus Dance Free Avalokitesvara”. The Lord is in red, wearing a crown, topless, and sitting on the throne of the sun lotus. Eighteen arms, all holding lotus flowers. The upper bound is Infinite Light and Dharma Vajra, and the lower bound is Matou Mingwang. The back of the portrait is pasted with a white silk label. The inscription is written in four-body Chinese characters of Han, Manchu, Mongolian and Tibetan. The Chinese text is: “On the seventh day of August, the forty-fifth year of Qianlong’s reign, Panchen Erdeni went to Danshuk to worship the benefit portrait of Avalokitesvara. The first from the right”. This hall of Avalokitesvara Thangka is composed of 9 axes and is now fully preserved. Each god in the picture has a Tibetan name under it, and the time and location are marked on the white silk label on the back.
