The dressing department mostly holds the Thangka of Vajra Bodhisattva, in the 18th century, Tibet, cloth, color, 127 cm high, 76 cm wide, 64 cm vertical and 44 cm horizontal. The old collection of the Qing Palace
This Vajra Bodhisattva is named in Tibetan as the “Multi Vajra Hand of the Subduing Department”, also known as the Devil Subduing Vajra Hand. “Buduo” is a transliteration of Sanskrit, that is, the ghosts of incarnation. This Vajrayana Bodhisattva is the manifestation of subduing Buduo ghosts. Blue body, with three eyes on one side, five skull crowns on the head, yellow hair standing up, fangs bared, fresh human head garlands hanging on the neck, eight snakes tight body, body in the light of wisdom flame, and white body elephant standing on the left side of the head to show the intention of surrender. The Bodhisattva has four arms. He holds a three-cobalt pestle in the upper right hand. He holds the diamond cord in the upper left hand. The other two hands touch the little finger with the chest. The palm of his hand extends outward and forms the seal of subduion. On the top right of the main statue is a painting of Immovable Buddha, on the top left is the fifth Dalai Lama Luosangyatso, and on the bottom of the painting is a painting of red Mizubu Vajra as Dharma Protector
On the back of the Thangka, there is a white silk label with four-body ink script in Han, Manchu and Mongolian. The Chinese text is: “On the seventh day of August, the forty-fifth year of Qianlong’s reign, the Panchen Erdeni entered the Danshuk to worship the benefit portrait holding Vajra Bodhisattva… the first on the left”.
