[Shangle Wangfo Thangka]

Shangle Wangfo Thangka, 18th century, Tibet, cloth, color, 121 cm high, 73 cm wide, 64 cm vertical and 41 cm horizontal. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The King Buddha of Shangle is the master of the joint cultivation of the Tibetan Nyingma, Sakya, Gaju and Gelu sects, especially the new sect of Mizun. The blue body painted in this painting is the most common shape among the different forms of the Buddha. The main body is blue, the middle is also blue, the left side is green, the right side is yellow, and the red back is painted on the left. Three eyes on each side show anger. With twelve arms, the two masters hold the red princess Vajrayana with a bell and pestle, the upper two hands hold the elephant skin, the right hand holds the drum, the axe, the axe, the knife, and the three-pronged fork, and the left hand holds the Kazhangga, the cranium, the rope, and the Brahma head. The Lord stood on his right side, stepped on the male and female figures, and leaned back against the flame. The Vajrayana Hai mother holds the Vajrayana pestle and the blood skull vessel, and her legs are wrapped around the waist of the King Buddha of Shangle. The sky above the Lord Buddha is painted with the Supreme Master Kapa in the middle, with Vajra Chi, Lausangsangkatso and the auspicious father, the Holy Dragon Tree on the left, and Lausangsangbedan Yixi, Vajra Hand and Lama Ruiba on the right. Below the lotus seat, the red body of Kanzheluo Black, yellow body of Sujian Ma, black karate mother and green Rama are juxtaposed, and the white elephant sitting in the middle of the Lama Zhongba. Zhou Za’s paintings of the cold forest where tigers, leopards, birds of prey and non-human beings fight for food are shocking
On the back of the Thangka, there is a white silk sign with four-body ink script in Han, Manchu and Mongolian. The Chinese text is: “On February 11, the forty-sixth year of Qianlong’s reign, the Zhongba Hutuktu year old Ben Kangbu respectfully offered the benefit portrait of the Yin Bodhi Buddha… the first on the left”.
