There are three generations of Buddhas, which are distinguished by the Medicine Buddha in the Eastern Pure Glaze World, Sakyamuni Buddha in the Middle Saha World and Amitabha Buddha in the Western Blissful World; There is also a “three world Buddha” which is distinguished by the burning light Buddha in the past world, Sakyamuni Buddha in the present world and Maitreya Buddha in the future world
This Thangka is “the third Buddha”. The three Buddha statues are all dressed in crimson full-shouldered cassocks, and sitting on the throne of Xumi Lotus with folded arms. The middle one is the Sakyamuni Buddha in the present world, and the right hand is tied with a period gram seal; On the right is the burning lamp Buddha of the past world, with his hands on his chest, and it is said that Sakyamuni’s becoming a Buddha was taught and recorded by him; On the left side of the Buddha is Maitreya Buddha of the future world, who has the seal of fearlessness. There are two disciples in front of Sakyamuni, the elder is Ananda, and the younger is Kayah. At the bottom are the four kings of heaven, and on the left are the king of Duowen and the king of Guangmu; The king of holding the kingdom and the king of growth on the right. On the top of the painting is the Buddhist Sutra of Eight Adults, written by the emperor on the new day of May in the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1761)
