Note the Thangka of the Buddha of Dun Ban Tuoja, 18th century, Tibet, cloth, color, height of 141cm, width of 74cm, painting center of 74cm, horizontal of 52cm. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The Buddha of Bantoga is the younger brother of the Buddha of Bantoga, also known as “Laqunba”, which means “path”. Although he was dull, he was finally awarded the Arohango position because of his unswerving adherence to the Dharma
The Buddha of Bantoga has a meditation seal on his hands, which means that all people who believe in Buddhism should be freed from the ever-changing world and all kinds of gorgeous external things. Zhou Za painted his life story. The main idea of the Tibetan language in the painting is: birth (Laqunba), the old woman prophesied, the woman carried the baby Laqunba, and the layman spoke to Laqunba. It is said that the disciples spoke to Laqunba, and Sakyamuni and his family members (Laqunba) said, go home, seek Dharma from the layman, meet Sakyamuni, receive precepts for Laqunba, and go to Shewei City. Five hundred Brahmans followed Laqunba to become a monk, and Laqunba went to the front of the Buddha to listen to Dharma and obtain the position of Arhat
On the back of the Thangka, there is a white silk label, with a four-body inscription in Han, Manchu, Mongolian and Tibetan characters on the ink, in which the Chinese text is: “On February 17, Qianlong’s forty-third year, the emperor ordered Zhang Jia to recognize the person who worshipped the benefit portrait and injected tea into the Bantuojia Buddha…… Fifth from the left”.
