The Tibetan name of this statue is “Tancheng Dahai Shengchu Buddha Dense Immovable Vajra”, and the Qing Palace is generally called the Secret Buddha. Dense Vajrayana is often regarded as the root of Vajrayana teachings. The Dharma objects held by dense Vajrayana represent the concept of controlling five parts: the bell and pestle are the symbol of the Vajrayana of the East; Mani is the symbol of the South Treasure Department; Lotus represents the Western Lotus Department; The sword refers to the Northern Ministry of Industry; Falun symbolizes the central Buddha
In the painting, the dense and motionless Vajra blue double body embraces the princess, and sits on the lotus platform with folded arms. The lotus platform bears three layers of bases, and the miscellaneous treasures are offered in front of the scattered display. The Great Buddha Vajra is painted in the heaven, and the founder of the dragon tree and Indra Bodhi King are all around him; The lower boundary is painted with the two bodies of the god of wealth, Bulu Vajra. On the left is the power of the Brahman Venerable, and on the right is the desire to retreat freely from the enemy. The painting of this Thangka has a strong Han style and should be the work of the Eastern Tibetan Painting School
The back of the Thangka is attached with a white silk label, which is inscribed in four-body Chinese, Manchu, Mongolian and Tibetan characters in ink. The Chinese text is: “On December 24, the Emperor ordered Zhang Jiahu Tuke to recognize and worship the benefit portrait of the Yangti Secret Buddha…” There is also a yellow inscription: “In the middle, this kind is divided into seven axes”.
