[Yellow enamel painted peony bowl]
Yellow enamel painted peony bowl, Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, 7.2 cm high, 15.2 cm caliber, 5.7 cm foot diameter
The bowl is open, the mouth is slowly closed along the lower contour line, and the abdomen is slightly plump and full. The inside of the bowl is plain and has no grain decoration. The outside of the bowl is painted with yellow color, and the top is painted with pink, blue, green, purple, lotus and other colors of peony in full bloom. At the bottom of the bowl, there are four characters in blue color, “made by Emperor Kangxi”, double lines, and two sides of the box
Kangxi enamel porcelain is decorated with as many colors as copper enamel ware, and rarely painted with white enamel. Common colors include red, yellow, blue, purple, green and rouge. The decoration is mainly composed of peonies, chrysanthemums, beauty yu, large flowers with broken branches, longevity and blooming flowers in the group flower center. The painting is rigorous and exquisite, with a graphic effect. The painting technique of this bowl has changed the rules and rigid style of copper enamel ware and become vivid and realistic. Its white and delicate texture, jade-like glaze, bright and beautiful colors and superb painting skills fully reflect the delicacy of the royal palace’s imperial utensils
