Ivory lion drama money pattern square box, early Qing Dynasty, 4 cm high, 6.5 cm diameter, 5.6 cm bottom diameter
The box is made of ivory, flat, square, with corners, the bottom shrinks with the shape, and the cover and the body fit. The cover is carved with a lock pattern in the shade, and the relief on it is carved with four flower patterns, with a lion playing with money pattern in the middle. The opposite two sides of the box wall are paintings and poems, both of which are carved with landscape characters, which are quite impressionistic. One side of the text reads: “Fish in shallow water compete for leaps, and birds in deep flowers compete for songs. The spring light is as beautiful as it can be, but it is as drunk as mud. Gao Pian.” The other side reads: “There is no control over the nature of the river, and wild crabapple flowers are everywhere. □ (Lei) carp.”
