This volume is painted with the title of the famous “Eight Sceneries of Yanjing” in Beijing. The eight scenic spots in Yanjing began from the Ming Chang Relics of Jin Dynasty. At that time, Jin Zhangzong Wan Yanjing selected eight scenic spots in Yanjing as the eight scenic spots in Yanjing, namely, “Juyong Diecui”, “Jade Spring Dropping Rainbow”, “Taiye Autumn Wind”, “Qiongdao Spring Shade”, “Jimen Flying Rain”, “West Mountain Snow”, “Lugou Xiaoyue” and “Jintai Sunset”. The “Yanjing Eight Scenes”, also known as “Yantai Eight Scenes”, “Yanshan Eight Scenes”, “Jingshi Eight Scenes” and “Jingji Eight Scenes”, passed through the Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Although the scenic spots are the same, the names of the eight sceneries have changed in different periods. In the 16th year of Qianlong’s reign (1751), Qianlong once wrote the poem “Eight Scenes of Yanshan”, naming the eight sceneries as “Qiongdao Spring Shade”, “Taiye Autumn Wind”, “Yuquan Baotu”, “Xishan Clear Snow”, “Jimen Smoke Tree”, “Lugou Xiaoyue”, “Jintai Sunset”, and “Juyong Diecui”, which has been used until now. The description of architecture in this album does not use a ruler, but the characteristics of architecture are vividly and accurately described, and the expression method is lively and stable, which is a painter’s masterpiece of realistic scenery.
