Picture album of Ding Gao, Kang Tao and Wang Kezhou

[Ding Gao Kang Tao Wang Ke Zhou Statue Volume]

Wang Ke Zhou Statue Volume, painted by Ding Gao and Kang Tao in the 21st year of Qianlong’s reign of the Qing Dynasty (1756), paper version, colored, 21.6 cm vertically and 6.4 cm horizontally
Ding Gao painted the head portrait and Kang Tao painted the monk’s clothes. It can be seen from the title of the protagonist Wang in this picture that this picture was painted in the early winter of the third year of Qianlong (the 21st year, 1756). This picture has one question written by Fan Jinyong, a native of Ji’an, Jiangxi Province, and two questions written by Wang Keyin on the opposite side and on the framed side. On the back are 10 inscriptions of Jin Nong, Yuan Mei, Zhao Zhiqian, etc
The figure shows the bust of Wang Keyin at the age of 56, with Kun hair and a slight beard, a solemn face, and divine eyes. The whole head portrait is exquisite in painting, soft in color, and highly three-dimensional in rendering. It should be a masterpiece of Ding’s portrait painting. The Wang family loved this image very much. They repeatedly commented on it and carried it with them during their travels. Therefore, many scholars and scholars wrote it later.
