[Seven Sages in Bamboo Forest Penholder]
Seven Sages in Bamboo Forest Penholder, clear, 17.3 cm high, 13.3 cm diameter. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The pen holder is round, inlaid with rosewood mouth and bottom, and has three legs. The barrel body is mainly carved with relief techniques, carving seven sages and several children in the bamboo forest, and arranging an array of characters up and down, some playing chess, some traveling, and some cooking tea, with different attitudes. The carved bamboo forest, closely arranged and thoroughly rooted, is particularly attractive. This tool is deep and incised layer by layer, reflecting the typical Jiading bamboo carving style.
