The box is flat and round with straight wall. The cover is slightly raised, with the sapphire blue glaze as the ground, and the center is decorated with five bat holding longevity patterns. The outer circle is decorated with eight auspicious patterns of twining branches and lotus. The wall of the vessel is decorated with eight auspicious patterns at the intervals of broken flowers. There is a copper gilded drawer in the box, which contains eight fan-shaped storage trays and a circular storage tray. Folded flower pattern on the interior of each storage tray
This box is made in Guangdong. Compared with the painted enamel made by the manufacturing office, the pattern is lively and smooth, and the sky blue glaze is more deep. The five bats on the cover adopt the composition of looking down and looking sideways. The three bats on the top also have certain changes, which obviously adopts western techniques. These show the unique features of Guangdong enamel in the middle of the Qing Dynasty
