The inscription: “Courtesy of Huang Jiming and Li Tingliang”, with the seal of “Respectful painting”. The seal on the top of the picture reads “the treasure of the imperial imperial concubine of Emperor Kang”. The picture depicts nine precious dogs in the flowers of the palace garden, with the names of “Mozi”, “ink ball”, “gardenia”, “Xiao Heng”, “pine nut”, “ink spoon”, “lion”, “small dot” and “ink peony”. The puppies are black, white or black and white, and some have pigtails on their heads. They have thick hair and haughty eyes. According to the mark on the top of the picture, it is inferred that this picture is specially made for the imperial concubine of Duan Kang. It is her domesticated pet dog.
