Yiyou and Dinghai had not finished the manuscript for two times. Recently, I lived in Haidian straight, and the rain window had more time to complete this picture. Only then did I know that the ancient saying of ‘one mountain on ten days, one water on five days’ was true. Kangxi Geng Yin Chunzhong wrote the title. Wang Yuanqi.”
The introduction of the seal “The imperial painting is kept for people to see” Zhu Baiyuan’s seal. The “Wang Yuanqi” white seal and “Lutai” Zhu seal are stamped at the lower left corner, and the “Xilu descendants” Zhu seal is stamped at the lower left corner
The “Gengyin” in the style is the 49th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1710), when Wang Yuanqi was 69 years old
The picture depicts the scenery in the south of the Yangtze River surrounded by smoke and clouds and the vegetation. Its brush and ink follow the dense painting style of Wang Meng, the painter of the Yuan Dynasty, and give full play to his dry brush chapping technique. With the changes of the mountain landscape, the brush and ink can be straight chapped for a long time, or curved arc chapped. On the basis of chapping, the ink can be repeatedly dyed from light to thick. The whole painting has the air of light and thick, solid and clear scroll, and the beauty of beautiful and fresh is contained in the mountains and steep mountains. It is the representative work of Wang Yuanqi imitating Wang Meng’s landscape painting in his later years
