Gold carved flower inlaid with tourmaline bead flat square, 31.1 cm long, 4.2 cm wide, and 0.4 cm thick
It is made of flat square gold with single side decoration. On the front side, the carved mat pattern ground is inlaid with emerald and tourmaline to form alternate flowers and butterflies, implying that the flowers will last forever. The upper and lower edges are carved with plum blossom patterns and rope patterns. The flat square head is inlaid with a pearl on both sides, and a green bat is inlaid in the center, under which is the stamp of “New Changxing Gold in Eastern Guangdong”
The flat square is a popular hair ornament in the harem of the Qing Dynasty, with a variety of quantities and materials. This is a fine piece of flat square.
