Monk Huaisu (active in the second half of the eighth century), a common surname Qian, has the character Zangzhen, and is from Changsha, Hunan (Yishuo Lingling). It is famous for cursive script in the countryside. Later, when going north to Chang’an, contemporary celebrities gave poems and praises one after another. Ding Si (777) of Dali University excerpted poems and Yan Zhenqing’s preface, and wrote this volume. Some of the poems in the volume describe the beauty of Huaisu’s cursive script with natural images and exaggerated diction; Some praised him for inheriting Zhang Xu’s craziness and pursuing the crazy and strange state. The whole volume is written with fine brush, continuous strokes and strange changes, which is the ultimate expression of cursive art.
