Zagu Zaya wooden bowl

[Zagu Zaya Wooden Bowl]

Zagu Zaya Wooden Bowl, Qianlong, Qing Dynasty, 6 cm in height and 16.3 cm in diameter. The old collection of the Qing Palace
Bowl pier shape, skimming mouth, jade wall type bottom, light inside and outside. The wood is glossy, showing natural texture. The central part of the bowl is engraved with four characters of the official script “for the Emperor Qianlong”, and the bottom foot is inlaid with regular script verses in silver:
Valonia comes to Tibet, and the grass roots become bark
Or the cloud can dispel evil
The branches and leaves are still hidden, and the variety of goods is amazing
Think twice about Jingshe, and use two things to satisfy hunger
The spring imperial examination was carried out in the middle of the Qianlong Festival (1786)
After that, use the gold wire inlaid seal script “Bide” to seal. There is a piece of paper in the bowl, which is written in Chinese, Manchu and Tibetan characters: “The fourth order of Turgut Taiji Jinba Gong enters a valonia”
Since the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, Tibet has offered such Zaguzhaya bowls to the imperial court every early spring. Among the imperial poems of Emperor Qianlong, there are at least 8 poems chanting Zaguzaya’s bowl title. Emperor Qianlong also imitated his grandfather Emperor Kangxi to prepare a wooden box for Zaguzaya’s wooden bowl, and carved his poems on the box cover and the bottom of the bowl respectively. Most of the fonts were also inlaid with silver to show his love for this wooden bowl
The material of this wooden bowl is very rare. For the convenience of carrying, the upper class in Tibet also specially made iron and gold bowl covers outside the wooden bowl. The rim of the bowl cover is connected with a cover, and the lifting ears are embedded on both sides, which can be carried with a strap. The wall and cover are carved with delicate flowers and dragon motifs
